members and attenders and encourages them to participate fully in the
Meeting community. They often arrange help driving people to appointments,
running errands, visiting those at home or in the hospital or checking in
with those who may feel isolated. If you have other needs or would like to
be held in the light, please let them know at afm.care.counsel@gmail.com.
This committee also maintains a fund for providing temporary assistance
with financial emergencies.
Care and Counsel also keeps the Last Wishes of members and attenders on file
as a starting place when planning memorials. The form for this is available for
download and printing here. The completed form can be delivered via email
attachment to <afm.care.counsel@gmail.com> or delivered to the AFM office
in person or by mail. If you need assistance using the form, please contact the
Office Coordinator at 404-377-2474 or email to <atlantaquakers@gmail.com>.
We are all ministers and all responsible for the care of our community. If you
can assist with driving people to appointments, running errands, visiting people,
please contact the Care and Counsel Committee at afm.care.counsel@gmail.com.
AFM Announcement, Discussion and Newsletter Mailing Lists

Our AFM email list services were updated in December, 2020, when the
Yahoo Groups service was discontinued. To selectively join any or all
of our three separate Google mailing lists, please send a request to the
Office Coordinator at atlantaquakers@gmail.com The available lists are:
-- The ANNOUNCEMENT list, which includes the (web posted) weekly
Announcement Sheet information, plus email updates and additions
directly related to the life of the meeting.
-- The DISCUSSION list, which includes the announcement sheet along
with committee and member emails about a broad range of topics related
to being a Quaker, often including social justice issues and opportunities
-- The NEWSLETTER list, which provides notice of when our latest monthly
newsletter becomes available on this website.

If you are a part of the AFM community and you would like a copy of
the
directory, please email your request to atlantaquakers@gmail.com or leave
a message on the office phone with your email address and we will send
a PDF copy to you. If you need a printed copy, please let us know and include
your mailing address. If you would like to be listed in the directory or need to
change or correct your directory information, please send an email to
afmdirectory@gmail.com. The directory and its information will only be
shared with other members of the meeting community and will not be posted
on the website.
Emergency Contact Information

Atlanta Friends Meeting maintains an emergency contact list for
regular
attenders and members should you have an emergency occur while at the
meetinghouse. This contact information is not published publicly or on-line,
and is only available to committee members serving on "Ministry & Worship"
and "Care & Counsel". You can add or confirm your Emergency Contact
information for the AFM list by using our on-line E.C. web form .

AFM Gathered Meeting Retreat Returns May 28, 2022!

AFM's annual Gathered Meeting Retreat will be presented this year as a
one-day event at the meetinghouse from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm on Saturday,
May 28, with both in-person and zoom participation to share our experience
on this journey of “Pandemic Discoveries".
What discoveries have guided your spirit and given you hope in the past two years?
- Get to know recent attenders and enjoy the day together in gathered spirit.
- Mary Ann Downey, Rachael Carter, Alison Mawle and Alberta Guise will facilitate
our worship in small and large group reflection.
- Open time for lunch, walks, chatting, yoga, and rest form 12-1:30.
- Child care will be provided. Registration required only if you need child care.
- We will use the same zoom link as our Sunday morning meetings for worship.
